I am so blessed to be able to live in such a wonderful place as this for the past 21 months. The food is great, the staff is so helpful and friendly, and the other residents are great people. We have so many activities here so we never get bored or lonely. Another thing I enjoy here is the weekly housekeeping service; I don't have to clean the bathroom, vacuum, or change the bed linens anymore. I can enjoy all of the fun things and they take care of the work!
Thanksgiving Celebrations in Senior Living Back

Thanksgiving is a special time of the year to gather with loved ones and give thanks together. For residents in senior living communities and their families, this may seem challenging. At Lewisville Estates, it is our goal to make our resident’s holiday special, no matter how near or far family may be to Lewisville, Texas. Here are some ways to include your loved one in your holiday celebrations.
First, call them. A simple phone call to ask how they are feeling is the first step to including your loved one in your day. The holidays may bring about loneliness to those in senior living away from family, especially new residents. Sometimes, all they need is a phone call to know that you are thinking of them and they are a part of your day.
Next, create new traditions. When your loved one moves into Independent or Assisted Living, traditions often change. Create new ones such as video chatting or dropping off door decorations for them. Lewisville Estates also offers many holiday activities for residents to participate in to keep their spirits up and their holiday festive!
Finally, send a care package. It is a difficult time to not be able to visit those in senior living. Sending a holiday care package with their favorite things and some pictures of the family is a great way to bring them happiness.
At Lewisville Estates, it is our priority that residents feel at home, happy, and loved! Our friendly community of residents and nurturing staff make that possible, and your extra love during the holidays ensures they have a very special Thanksgiving!
