I have lived at Lewisville Estates for ten months. It was a major decision for me, coming from my own home of many years, to a smaller space and community setting. I have not once regretted the move. The staff is very accommodating; the residents are friendly and welcoming. When wanted or needed, activities are available. This is now Home!
Be Happy Back
Ever heard of the saying, “April showers bring May flowers?”
April sure brought plenty of showers throughout the U.S. during the month and now it’s time for those May flowers to start blooming! Happiness and sunshine will start to shed their light throughout the land. Summer is officially coming and we’ve got some tips for you to make it an unforgettable one! Life hands you plenty of lemons and it’s time to start making lemonade! With these simple tips you will lead not only a happy but a healthy life.
- Exercise Daily
It is important to maintain a healthy life and exercise is KEY in doing so! Studies show
that you can benefit from as little as 15 minutes of exercise per day! Can you imagine
what 30 minutes would do for you? The great thing is that are so many ways for you to
to get the exercise that you need! It is as simple as going for a hike, walk, bike ride,
swim, dance, lifting weights, even cleaning! You could be exercising without even
knowing you are!
- Seek Adventure
You’re probably thinking to do this you’re going to have to jump out of plane and you
certainly don’t have to! Although I hear it is quite the exhilarating experience! Seeking
adventure can be as simple as taking a stroll through the park, visiting a new restaurant in town that you haven’t been to, taking a vacation to the beach with family and friends. It’s important that we live our lives to the fullest and see and do as much as we can. It’s never too late to take that European vacation!
- Sleep Well
Did you know that sleep plays a critical role in the immune system, metabolism,
memory, learning, and other vital functions. Adults ages 26 and more should sleep 7-9
hours every night! So go grab your favorite pillow and catch some z’s!
- Trust Yourself
Having confidence and trust in yourself is an admirable quality to have. And you guessed
it! It’s healthy! Relieve yourself of all that stress and anxiety and trust that EVERYTHING
is going to be alright! Don’t sweat the small stuff! You’re the captain of your own ship! In
the words of Fleetwood Mac, “You can go your own way!”
- Live in the Moment
Enjoy EVERY moment that you have! Live in the present not the past nor future!
Appreciate all the moments, little or big, and cherish them. You’ve got one shot at this life
so don’t miss it!
- Be Grateful
Aristotle once said, “It is just that we should be grateful, not only to those with whose
views we may agree, but also to those who have expressed more superficial views; for
these also contributed something, by developing before us the powers of thought.” What
are you grateful for? Who are you grateful for? What impact have they had in your life?
Let that sink in.
- Accept Change
There’s one thing that is consistent in life and that is change! Whether the change in
weather, change in the number of your friends/family, change in the color of leaves
throughout the season, or change in the way we view the world. So many aspects of
our lives are constantly changing and we must accept them and adapt for change can be
a beautiful thing!
- Have Happy Friends
Surround yourself with positive people! Positivity is contagious, all you need is a little and
your hooked. Don’t waste your time on negativity! Spread light and joy to all that you
love and care for!
- Smile More & Often
Frowning requires more muscles to be used than smiling! Save yourself some energy
smile! You’re gorgeous so let it show! One simple smile can brighten yours and someone
else’s day! So what are you waiting for? Smile. Laugh. Rejoice!
When we arrived at Lewisville Estates ten months ago, we were quite apprehensive to begin a whole new way of life in our old age. However, we were warmly greeted by residents and staff alike. We were most pleasantly surprised with our new apartment and quickly settled into our new home. We have been very contented and happy here.
I like Lewisville Estates because all of the people are so friendly. The games are fun and there is always something to do. I enjoy going out to the garden and watching the fish and birds; some of us got to see a roadrunner. I had never seen one before so that was exciting. There is also a hummingbird and a green parakeet.
I am so blessed to be able to live in such a wonderful place as this for the past 21 months. The food is great, the staff is so helpful and friendly, and the other residents are great people. We have so many activities here so we never get bored or lonely. Another thing I enjoy here is the weekly housekeeping service; I don't have to clean the bathroom, vacuum, or change the bed linens anymore. I can enjoy all of the fun things and they take care of the work!
My mother has been a resident at Lewisville Estates for about four years and recently we had to move her because she needed more care. It was regrettable that we had to move because we had grown to consider Lewisville Estates home. That is about the greatest compliment I can give to the staff at Lewisville Estates and the management at Tarantino Properties. Home is a place where one can feel comfortable, at peace and surrounded by loving, caring people. We found that at Lewisville Estates and are very grateful to every person there.
